Next Meeting – 4 Dec – Minister Rattenbury – climate change, living infrastructure, an entertainment precinct and a new CIT!

The next WVCC public meeting will be held at 6.30pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019 at the Woden Southern Cross Club. This will be our last meeting for the year so come along and celebrate, over nibbles and drinks, the announcement for a new CIT in Woden.

Minister Rattenbury will discuss the ACT Government’s climate change and living infrastructure policies. We would like to start a conversation with the community about where green areas should be in the Town Centre and where trees need to be planted across the district.

Minister Rattenbury is also interested in live music and has released an Entertainment Action Plan. Our entertainment area, the Woden Town Square, is hosting the following activities:

  • Fri 29 November, 6, 13, 20 December – 4pm – Buzz on the Square – music, bbq and drinks
  • Sat 7 December – 11am to 2pm – Woden Arts Fair

The ACT Government will discuss the Red Hill Integrated Plan which provides for residential development on the southern section of the Federal Golf Club.

ACT Libraries will chat about the outcomes of the workshops they held to hear your views about how $500,000 can be spent to create a new community space on the top level, where the Heritage Library used to be. Many artists have expressed an interest in using this space to bring our art community together.
