Agenda May Meeting

 1. Minutes/Apologies

 2. Alison Abernethy, Senior Manager, Media and Communications, Economic Development Directorate Health Related Facilities: Subdivision adjoining The Canberra Hospital– Section 24 Garran.

 The Economic Development Directorate (EDD) is seeking comments in relation to the subdivision of Part Block 1 Section 24 Garran, being a block of approximately 22,000 square metres in area and bordered by Curlewis Crescent, Rusden Street, Hartigan Street and Hindmarsh Drive, to be used for several individual health related facilities.

The block has been identified for release as part of the ACT Government Infrastructure Plan 2010 for the provision of additional health facilities. Under the Territory Plan the block is zoned CFZ Community Facility Zone. This Zoning permits use of the block for a range of community uses. However, as the block is part of an ACT Government initiative to provide additional health facilities it will be used for this purpose.

 3. Ben McHugh from ACT Roads Yamba drive shared paths and other road projects in Woden.

Tenders have recently been called for construction of the shared paths on both sides of Yamba Drive between Yarra Glenn and the Canberra Hospital.  Ben will update the meeting on progress of the project and other Woden roads issues.

4. Mark Spain (Vice President of the City Farm Group) Canberra City Farm.

Canberra City Farm Group plans to develop a hub to creatively share knowledge and experience of living in harmony with a viable and healthy local environment.  It aims to improve the connection between local farmers and city residents and to encourage urban people to produce local food through community gardens and resident garden plots.
