Woden Valley Community Council Meeting

Craig Simmons, Director of Construction Services in the ACT Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate will do a presentation on Building Quality at the meeting of the Woden Valley Community Council at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, 7 September 2011 in the Apollo Room in the Hellenic Club in Woden.
Mr Simmons’s presentation will focus on some of the problems with building quality in the ACT especially with multi unit developments, and will deal with issues such as the rights of people purchasing apartments, and body corporates etc. He will also outline steps the Government is taking to address some of the issues.
At the meeting there will be a report on the ACT Electoral Commission Hearing on 31 August 2011 on objections to the ACT redistribution of electoral boundaries. Martin Miller appeared before the Hearing on the WVCC’s proposal for a seven-member Brindabella electorate that would see Woden Valley, Tuggeranong and Weston Creek in the one electorate.
The meeting will also be briefed on the issue of the proposed change of lease of the Pitch and Putt Golf Course site.
All are most welcome to attend the WVCC meeting on 7 September, to be informed and to express views on issues affecting residents in Woden.
