The Annual General Meeting of the Woden Valley Community Council will be held on Wednesday, 5 October 2010 at 7.30 pm in the Orpheus Room in the Hellenic Club in Woden.
[teaserbreak]
The Annual General Meeting will elect a new committee for 2010-11. WVCC needs a strong committee to pursue the interests of Woden residents, especially given the forthcoming ACT Elections in October 2012. The Council therefore encourages those interested to consider nominating for office or to be a committee member. For further information, please contact WVCC by email info@williamsonau.org or call 0420 529 747.
Before the AGM, David Pfaff (architect) will present new proposals for the Mandir Ashram Residential Aged Care Facilty in Beasley Street in Farrer. Mandir Ashram already has approval for a 60-bed facility in addition to 78 independent living units. However an earlier development application for 106 beds was refused by the ACT Planning and Land Authority.
All are most welcome to attend the WVCC’s Annual General Meeting on 5 October.
Please note in your diaries that the Woden Valley Festival, hosted by the Woden Community Service and the WVCC will be held on Saturday, 6 November 2011 in Eddison Park (off Launceston Street, Phillip). More information on the Festival can be found at http://wodenvalleyfestival.org.au/
